Free school meals make a huge difference to almost 2 million children in the UK but when schools are closed so are the kitchens ...at Lunch we encourage church and community groups to help us bridge the holiday hunger gap.

Families on low incomes face added pressure at holiday times, forget going abroad, camping in the UK even, having a day out, or simply buying a new game that’s a dream for many children. The reality is that just finding the extra money to eat properly is an added burden on parents in the holidays.

So Lunch kitchens offer free meals to children, fun activities and a place to make new friends. Mums and Dads can meet others facing the same challenges, find support and get a break themselves...if only for an hour.
